Kayak Series names
To avoid any possible confusion about kayak models when looking at photos etc - all Neris hybrid folding kayaks (EG Smart / Smart PRO) have a Series logo on the front side deck and all Neris folding kayaks (Alu / Valkure) have a Series logo on the rear deck.
EG - you will only see "NERIS SMART PRO" on all three Smart PRO models

water is open to paddlers, some access points / rivers are privately owned

Folding Kayak Series
The NERIS folding kayak range

There
are two distinct Series in the NERIS folding kayak range - ALU
and VALKURE Series. Both series have a double seater
and a triple seater version kayak. The ALU Series also have a single seater - the Valkure Series Valkure-1 was discontinued in 2018.
A main key design of the NERIS folding kayaks that differs to most other branded folding kayaks
is that the NERIS kayaks have shorter front / rear decks and long open cockpits. Other branded kayaks typically have the proportions the other way round - long front / rear decks with a shorter cockpit length. Hence the Neris design is better suited for small families - there is more seating capacity compared to other branded kayaks of similar boat length.
Alu
Series are kayaks that have all the
frames pieces made of dura aluminium. The Alu
Series are also
'Transformer' kayaks which means that with an additional
Transformer Kit, a different length Alu Series kayak can be assembled
and be used instead. EG - an 3 seater NERIS Alu-3 plus
a Transformer Kit T3-1 will create an NERIS Alu-3
or a single seater NERIS Alu-1 at a minimal extra cost.
The bigger kayak has all the required frame parts needed
to make the smaller version Alu kayak - all that is
required is the smaller sized skin. Different Transformer kits are available to
cater for
all possible permutations to
make your secondary Alu Series kayak larger or smaller. For more

A feature of the multi-seater Alu models is that the extra space designated for storage within the central portion of the open cockpit, can optionally be used to seat a small child.
Valkure Plus Series are kayaks made with a hybrid frame
and have bow-to-stern air sponsons. The hybrid
frame has marine grade plywood cross ribs, with the rest of the
kayak frame pieces in all dura aluminium. The pair of sponson air tubes
which are fitted to the inside of the one piece kayak skin allows
for quicker kayak assembly, provides in-built buoyancy, slightly
more
stability,
and a higher weight loading limit. These Valkure Series kayaks
are also designed to handle river rapids up to Grade 3 and are
easier
to
maintain
after usage in salty water.
